The bachelor's thesis is focused on options of physiotherapeutic influence of patellofemoral pain syndrome. It is defined as idiopathic pain of anterior knee of multifactorial origin. For the accurate patellofemoral joint function it is essential to secure its stability. The training of vastus medialis obliquus and the stretching of tight soft-tissue structures belong to interventions ensuring proper patellar tracking. These physiotherapeutic methods are supported by physical therapy modalities and aplication of orthotics from which the patellar taping is the most used nowadays. It is a part of McConnell's comprehensive rehabilitation concept which seems to be highly effective in the treatment.
