Diplomová práce s názvem Překlad Papelucha- díla Marcely Paz, je věnovaná překladu knihy Papelucho. Papelucho je nejznámější chilská dětská kniha a patří do série dvanácti knih a osmiletém chlapci Papeluchovi, který žije s rodiči a sourozenci v Santiagu. Autorka Marcela Paz (Ester Huneeus de Claro) celý svůj život věnovala tvorbě pro děti, také stala se první prezidentkou chilské sekce IBBY. Diplomová práce se v první části věnuje popisu literatury pro děti a mládež v Chile v první polovině dvacátého století do okamžiku prvního vydání Papelucha v roce 1947, seznamuje čtenáře s nejdůležitějšími autory tohoto období jako je například Alicia Mo-rel. Autorka Marcela Paz je představena v krátké biografii a v přílohách je možno si přečíst její krátký životopis napsaný autorkou v šedesátých letech, následuje popis Pa-pelucha, který se zaměřuje na jeho zařazení do kontextu dětské literatury a seznamuje s jeho významem v Chile. V komentáři k překladu je věnován prostor problematice a vysvětlení obtížných pasáží ať už lingvisticky či kulturně. Poslední část diplomové práce je tvořena samotným překladem Papelucha a je doplněna originálními ilustracemi od Yolandy Hunees, sestry Marcely Paz.The thesis named Translation of Papelucho - novel by Marcela Paz has as its main subject the translation of Papelucho. Papelucho is one of the best known Chilean children's books. It is a part of a twelve volume series about an eight year old boy Pa-pelucho who lives with his parents and siblings in Santiago. The author Marcela Paz (Ester Huneeus de Claro) dedicated her entire life to writing for children. She was also the first president of the Chilean section of IBBA. In the first part, the thesis concentrates on children's literature in Chile in the first half of the 20th century until 1947 when Papelucho was published for the first time. In this part the most important authors of the time, such as Alicia Morel, are introduced. Marcela Paz is presented in a short biography and in the appendix it is possible to read her autobiography from the 1960's. The second part of the thesis consists of a description of Papelucho, its place in the context of children's literature and its significance for the Chilean cultural landscape. Description and explanation of linguistically and culturally difficult parts of the text is included in the commentary on the translation. The last part of the thesis is the translation of Papelucho itself illustrated by original artwork by Yolanda Hunees, the sister of the author.
