El objetivo general es analizar la novela El crimen del siglo para definir las características de la nueva novela histórica presentes en ella, el tipo de narrador y sus características, además de los conceptos de fanatismo y violencia inmersos en la obra de Miguel Torres. Para lograr este objetivo, se buscó en primera medida, hacer una revisión de literatura sobre la historia de Colombia, la época de la violencia, el fanatismo, la figura de Gaitán y la vida de Juan Roa Sierra. Igualmente, se hizo una revisión de textos sobre la Nueva Novela Histórica y sobre los tipos de narrador en tercera persona, el autor implícito y el narrador poco fiable. Finalmente, se elaboró una extracción del corpus, en donde fuera posible identificar el fanatismo, las características de la NNH y el tipo de narrador de la novela.The general objective is to analyze the novel El crimen del siglo to define the characteristics of the new historical fiction present in it, the type of narrator and his characteristics, and the con-cepts of fanaticism and violence immersed in the work of Miguel Torres. The first step was to review the literature on the history of Colombia to achieve this objective, the era of violence, fanaticism, the figure of Gaitán, and the life of Juan Roa Sierra. Likewise, a revision of texts was made on the New Historical Novel and the types of the narrator in the third person, the implicit author, and the unreliable narrator. Finally, extraction of the corpus was elaborated, where it was possible to identify the fanaticism, the characteristics of the NNH, and the type of narrator of the novel.
