Este trabajo interdisciplinario se centra en el estudio histórico-cultural y literario de la imagen de los naturales norteamericanos de la costa pacífica en las crónicas de Indias en la segunda mitad del siglo XVIII. Su objetivo principal es observar las percepciones de Miguel Constanzó y José Mariano Mocińo de las tribus indígenas, su sociedad, costumbres, cultura e historia, que nos ofrecen una posibilidad peculiar de revelar su imagen en un espacio-tiempo concreto. Todo esto, complementado por el contexto histórico-geográfico y literario de las expediciones y el análisis comparativo de ambas crónicas estudiadas.This interdisciplinary thesis is dedicated to a historical, cultural and literary study of an image of the North American natives of the Pacific coast in the Chronicles of the Indies in second half of the 18th century. The main objective is to observe Miguel Constanzó's and José Mariano Mocińo's perceptions of indigenous tribes, their society, customs, culture and history, which offer us a peculiar possibility to reveal their image in a specific space-time. All of this complemented by a historical, geographical and literary context of expeditions and a comparative analysis of both chronicles.
