Tato bakalářská práce si klade za cíl komparovat seriál Sex and the City a Girls skrze vzhled a kostýmy hlavních ženských postav Carrie Bradshaw a Hannah Horvath. Při práci se mimo jiné zaměřuji na tvorbu kostýmních designérek v daném seriálu, Patricii Field a Jenn Rogien, jenž má nepochybný vliv na utváření celého charakteru postav. V analytické části nejdříve rozebírám přístup k práci jednotlivých kostýmních tvůrkyň. Na základě celkové vizáže poté dešifruji charakter hrdinek. Skrze jejich vývoj v průběhu všech sérií sleduji i proměny vzhledu a kostýmů. Metodologicky se rámcově opírám o publikace Jeremyho G. Butlera (Television: Critical Methods and Applications) a Richarda Dyera (Stars).This bachelor thesis compares the series Sex and the City and Girls through the appearance and wardrobe of the characters Carrie Bradshaw and Hannah Horvath. I discuss, among other things, the work of the shows' costume artists, Patricia Field and Jenn Rogien, which has a clear influence on the construction of the characters. First I analyse the approach of each designer, after which I decipher the character of the protagonists' based on overall appearance and observe the transformation of their wardrobe throughout the series. Methodologically, my work is based mostly on the work of Jeremy G. Butler (Television: Critical Methods and Applications) and Richard Dyer (Stars).
