Experimentální část práce popisuje princip a realizaci zvoleného měřícího uspořádání. Dále je diskutována shoda teoretického modelu s~naměřenými daty a vyčíslení hodnot parametrů testovaných detektorů.In this thesis the properties of single-photon avalanche photodiodes (SPADs) operating in~Geiger mode are studied. SPADs are characterized by parameters such as photon detection linearity, dark count rate and dead time. We have proposed and experimentally implemented optical circuit for absolute measurement of single-photon detector linearity and observed the deviation from linear response of three different SPADs. Further, the theoretical model was formulated to quantifes the noise performance and the saturation of the SPADs. This model clarifies how these effects set a limit to the linear response of the detectors. Using the model we estimated dark counts and dead time of the detectors under test and compared them with the values obtained by direct measurement. The results show that SPAD saturation cannot be fully explained by its dead time.
