Diplomová práce analyzuje společenské a ekonomické proměny Karvinska po roce 1989 pohledem mladé generace žijící v této oblasti a mající zde kořeny. Po roce 1989 byl region silně ovlivněn transformačním procesem souvisejícím s přechodem od centrálně plánovaného hospodářství k tržní ekonomice. Karvinsko je specifickým územím na severovýchodě České republiky ovlivněným deindustrializací, restrukturalizací průmyslu, dále dlouhodobou vysokou nezaměstnaností a výraznými depopulačními tendencemi. Tyto pro staré průmyslové regiony klíčové jevy jsou diskutovány v širším problémovém a mezinárodním kontextu. Tato část práce tvoří její nosný teoretický pilíř. Druhý empirický pilíř je zaměřen na percepční výzkum mladé generace v zájmovém území Karvinska s cílem zhodnotit postoje mladých k sociálním a ekonomických proměnám regionu. K tomuto účelu byl použit dotazníkový sociologický výzkum v kombinované podobě: výzkum u mladé generace na vybraných středních školách v regionu a výzkum na sociální síti pro skupinu mladých, kteří v minulosti odešli z regionu.This diploma thesis analyzes social and economic changes of "Karvinsko" region since 1989 from the perspective of young generation living in this area and having its roots here. After 1989, the Karvinsko region was deeply affected by the transformation process associated with the transition from centrally planned economy to market economy more intensely and radically than other regions. Karvinsko, a specific area situated in the northeastern part of the Czech Republic, was affected by de-industrialization, industry restructuring, high long-term unemployment rate and strong depopulation tendencies. All of these issues, crucial when it comes to old industrial complexes, are discussed through the thesis (in the more extensive problem and international context). This forms the base of the theoretical section of the thesis. The second, empiric part of the paper, is focused on a perceptional investigation of the young generation within the area of interest, Karvinsko, with an aim to evaluate an approach of the young towards the social and economic changes of the region. For this purpose, a sociological questionnaire survey of a combined form was used: a research among the young generation attending selected secondary schools located in the area and a social network survey collecting information from a wider group of young people of the Karvinsko region.
