Práce se zabývá křesťanstvím v historiografickém díle Ammiana Marcellina. Snaží se rozebrat postoj posledního římského historiografa k tomuto nově uznanému oficiálnímu náboženství a tento postoj dokumentovat pomocí zmínek, které jsou v díle obsaženy. Cílem je také zpracovat přehled názorů novodobých badatelů na problematiku křesťanství v díle Res gestae. Práce se snaží poukázat na osobní život Ammiana Marcellina a také přiblížit jeho velké historiografické dílo Res gestae.The graduation thesis deals with the Christianity in Ammianus Marcellinus´ historical work. It aimes at analysis of the attitude of the last Roman historian to this newly recognized official religion and illustration of his attitude by means of references included in the text. The additional objective is to work out summary of contemporary researchers´ opinions of problems of Christianity in Res gestae historical work. The thesis also pays attention to Ammian Marcellinus´ personal life and describes his historical work Res gestae.
