Tato diplomová práce se zabývá překladem textů z katalogů cestovní kanceláře, která nabízí výletní plavby. Texty byly vybrány dle potřeb cestovní kanceláře Soleada, která nás pověřila překladem a specifikovala překladatelské zadání. První část práce zkoumá typ textu a představuje teorii skoposu, která byla následována při překladu. Dále je text analyzován dle modelu Christine Nordové, kde jsou popsány jak intratextové, tak extratextové faktory. Následuje překlad z anglického do českého jazyka. V další kapitole jsou prezentovány překladatelské postupy a řešení problémů, které mohou při překládání takovýchto textů pro české čtenáře nastat.This diploma thesis deals with the translation of the texts from a travel catalogue offering cruises. The texts were chosen according to the needs of the travel agency Soleada which commissioned us with the translation and specified the translating instructions. First part of the paper examines the type of the text and introduces the skopos theory which has been followed in the translation. Secondly, the text is analyzed according to Christine Nord's model and both intratextual and extratextual factors are studied. The translation of the texts from the English to the Czech language follows in the next chapter. Selected translation procedures are presented as well as the solutions to problems that may occur during the translation of travel catalogues for the Czech readers.
