V této diplomové práci jsem se rozhodl vypracovat téma "Josef Egyptský v historii a v Písmu". Tato práce představuje, zhruba řečeno, pohled na vztahy mezi skutečnou historií a Josefovým příběhem, jenž je součástí Starého zákona. Pokoušel jsem se definovat a popsat, co autor tohoto příběhu věděl o životě v době bronzové nebo starší době železné? Co si autor myslel, že ví o sestupu Izraele do Egypta? Zajímal jsem se o literární žánr Josefových příběhů a pokoušel jsem se odpovědět na otázky: Kdy a kde byly příběhy vytvořeny? Kdo je napsal? Kolik autorů se na sepsání podílelo? Měli autoři záměr, aby se toto dílo stalo posvátným textem. To jsou otázky, které jsou důležité pro porozumění daného biblického textu.In this graduation theses I decided to work a theme "Joseph the Egyptian in History and Scripture".This work represents, broadly speaking, an overwiev of the relations between real history and the story of Joseph, which is a part of the Old Testament. I tried to define and describe what does the author of this story know about the life in the Bronze Age or Early Iron Age? What does the author think he knows about the descent of Israel to Egypt? I was interested in literaray genre of Joseph stories and I tried to respond to questions: When and where were the stories created? Who wrote the stories? How many authors? Did the authors write the work with the intend that it should become a sacred text? Such questions are important to understanding what the Biblical text means.
