Carlos I. a jeho žena Amélie jsou důležitými osobnostmi portugalské historie. Byl to totiž královský pár, který vládl v období pádu monarchie v Portugalsku. Zaměřuji se na jejich život, jejich přínos pro portugalskou společnost, začátek problémů v jejich soukromém životě, v ekonomice i v politice a na následný diktátorský režim J.Franca. Zlá vnitrostátní situace vyvrcholila zavražděním Carlose a jeho syna Luíse v roce 1908, kdy se Portugalsko stalo čtvrtou republikou na světě. Cílem mé práce je zjistit, zda tito dva panovníci, Carlos a Amélie, jsou nějakým způsobem zodpovědni za pád monarchie anebo to byl přirozený vývoj země, kde se republikánské myšlenky šířily extrémně rychle.Carlos I and his wife Amélia of Orléans are very important personalities in the portuguese history. They were the monarchs who reigned during the fall of the monarchy in Portugal. I will focus on their lives, their contributions to the portuguese society, the beginnings of the problems in their private life followed by economic and political problems and the dictatorship of Jo?o Franco. The bad situation in the country ended with the assassination of Carlos and his son Luís Filipe in 1908. The official end of monarchy was declared on October 5th, 1910. Portugal became the forth Republic in the world. The aim of my work is to find out if these two last monarchs, Carlos I and Amélia, are responsible for the fall of the monarchy in Portugal or if it was a natural development of the country where republican ideas were spreading extremely rapidly.
