(159 695 znaků) : grafy, tab. + CD ROM. -- Ved. práce Marek Lapčík. -- Oponent Renáta Sedláková. -- Abstract: Tato diplomová práce se zabývá mediální reprezentací migrantů, uprchlíků a žadatelů o azyl, kteří přicházejí do Evropy, na britských zpravodajských serverech Theguardian.com a Telegraph.co.uk. Cílem je popsat a porovnat, jakým způsobem je konstruován mediální obraz těchto osob na uvedených zpravodajských serverech, a specifika jejich reprezentace vysvětlit. V první části práce jsou představena teoretická východiska následné analýzy. V rámci mediálně konstruktivistického paradigmatu je důraz kladen na teorie agendy setting a morální paniky, hierarchický model vlivů na obsah sdělení a koncepty zpravodajských hodnot a gatekeepingu. Tento obecný teoretický rámec je dále doplněn o vybrané teorie a koncepty zabývající se specifiky mediální reprezentace etnických a rasových menšin a výsledky konkrétních analýz mediálního obrazu migrantů a uprchlíků. Následující část práce se věnuje metodice výzkumu. V poslední části jsou představeny výsledky kvantitativní obsahové analýzy serverů. Z nich vyplývá, že zkoumaná média se ve způsobu pokrytí tématu výrazně neliší a na obou je možné nalézt problematické jevy.. -- Abstract: This master's thesis is concerned with the media representation of migrants, refugees and asylum seekers coming to Europe, on the British news websites Theguardian.com and Telegraph.co.uk. The main goal is to describe and compare the manner in which the media portrayal of these persons is constructed on the above-mentioned news websites and to explain the specifics of their representation. The first part of the thesis presents the theoretical background of the subsequent analysis. Within a media-constructivist paradigm, emphasis is placed on the agenda setting and moral panics theories, the hierarchical model of influences on the contents of the message and the concepts of news values and gatekeeping. This general theoretical framework is complemented with selected theories and concepts concerning the specifics of the media representation of ethnical and racial minorities and the results of past research on the media potrayal of migrants and refugees. The next section is concerned with the methodology of the reasearch. The final section presents the results of the quantitative content analysis of the news websites being examined. These results show that the analysed media do not significantly differ in the manner of covering the topic and each of them involves certain problematic phenomena.
