The bachelor thesis ?Gender Stereotypes in Magazines for Women and for Men? compares the magazine Marianne, the typical representative of the segment of exclusive magazines for women, with ForMen, the representative of exclusive magazines for men. The basic gender concepts and categories are defined here within the social constructivist paradigm which they come from. The formal and visual aspects of both magazines are monitored here with the help of the comparative method. Comparing the content aspect has the greatest significance when the topics of individual articles are emphasised here and also finding out whether they correspond to the traditional gender stereotypes. The results of this work show that purely female topics like fashion, cooking and household or body care penetrate into magazines for men. On the other hand, purely male topics only minimally penetrate into magazines for women.
