Rod Triturus je v České republice zastoupen třemi druhy (T. cristatus, T. carnifex a T. dobrogicus), jejich společný výskyt je soustředěn do oblasti jižní Moravy (okresy Břeclav, Hodonín, Znojmo). Revize geografického rozšíření dokládá, že determinace nalezených jedinců je složitá a všichni autoři záznamů nejsou plně ztotožněni s výskytem všech tří druhů na našem území. Morfometrická data (WI), získaná z literárních pramenů, byla zpracována v programu NCSS 2007. Celkem bylo použito 302 údajů (140 pro samce a 162 pro samice). Jako hodnotící kritérium byly použity hodnoty uváděné Wolterstorffem. Mezi druhy panuje jasná hierarchie v poměrech WI, stejně tak i u samců a samic. U druhu T. cristatus byly hodnoty WI pro obě pohlaví přibližně shodné s daty Wolterstorffa. U T. carnifex byla zjištěna značná odchylka u dat pro samce. U T. dobrogicus byly hodnoty WI přibližně totožné s Wolterstorffovými.The Triturus genus is represented by three species (T. cristatus, T. carnifex and T. dobrogicus) in the Czech Republic. The occurrence of these three species is centred to the South Moravia region (Breclav, Hodonin and Znojmo districts). The geographic distribution revision exemplifies that the determination of found individuals is very complex and not all of the authors are fully identified with the occurrence of those three species in our lands. The orometric data (WI) that were obtained from literature were tested in computer programme NCSS 2007. The total of 302 data was used (140 for males and 162 for females). Values reported by Wolterstorff were used as evaluative criteria. There is clear hierarchy in WI ratios between species; the same is valid for males and females. WI values for both sexes were approximately identical with Wolterstorff data according to T. cristatus. Significant deviation was found in T. carnifex males? data. The WI values for T. dobrogicus were approximately identical with Wolterstorff data.
