ZABLOUDILOVÁ, J. Postavení kast v indické společnosti. Olomouc 2011. Diplomová práce. Univerzita Palackého v Olomouci. Právnická fakulta. Katedra teorie práva. Vedoucí práce JUDr. Petr Osina, Ph.D. I když současná indická právní úprava zakazuje kastovnictví prostřednictvím ústavního zakotvení rovnosti občanů, kastovní systém je stále naprostým základem všech společenských vztahů.The position of castes in the Indian society. The thesis deals with social groups in India named castes. It identifies their historical development of original groups - Varnas, their general characteristics and differences of four major castes - Brahmans, Ksatriyas, Vaishyas and Shudras, in various areas of social life. The authoress also focuses on the unforgettable fifth social group in India, the Untouchables, who are not considered as a separate caste. Very important for understanding the caste system is the theory of pure and impure, and the philosophy of Hinduism. Most, the authoress deals with the description of castes in the area of family relations, marriage, marriages and division of labor. In the last part of the work there are described the main influences of modern society to further development of the caste system. Although the current Indian law prohibits caste system through the constitutional equality of citizens, the caste system is still an absolute basis of all social relations.
