Cílem této bakalářské práce je překlad kapitoly Characterizing Vowels z původní anglické monografie Phonetic Data Analysis od Petera Ladefogeda a opatřit text odborným komentářem, v němž jsou vysvětleny problémy terminologické a translatologické povahy. Součástí práce je též kapitola věnující se reflexi akustického zkoumání vokálů v české odborné literatuře. Při překládání jsou řešeny problémy spojené s chybějícími protějšky. Jsou způsobené absencí české odborné literatury.Aim of this work is to translate the chapter Characterizing Vowels from English monograph Phonetic Data Analysis by Peter Ladefoged and to provide text with commentary which clarifies problems connected with translation and terms. Part of this work is also the chapter which is concerned with reflection of acoustic analysing of vowels at Czech professional literature. There are solved problems with lack of Czech phonetic terms during the translation. These problems are caused by the absence of Czech professional literature.
