První část práce se věnuje problematice autorské pohádky ve Velké Británii dvacátého století. Druhá kapitola je věnována biografii a bibliografii autora. Třetí, čtvrtá a pátá kapitola jsou věnovány analýze děl. Šestá kapitola se zaměřuje na intermotiv rodiny ve vybraných dílech.. -- Abstract: The diploma thesis deals with the analysis and interpretation of selected works by Roald Dahl - Matilda, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, James and the Giant Peach. The first part of the thesis deals with the issue of authorial fairy-tail in Great Britain in the twentieth century. The second chapter is devoted to the biography and bibliography of the author. The third, fourth and fifth chapters are devoted to the analysis of works. The sixth chapter focuses on the intermotif of the family in selected works.
