Cílem této práce je analýza překladu díla vybraného českého autora do standardní čínštiny se zaměřením na idiomatické výrazy chengyu. Tato analýza se zabývá celkovým použitím chengyu při převodu textu do čínštiny, významovými změnami v cílovém jazyce, i motivacemi překladatelky pro použití chengyu v překladu. Objektem této práce je dílo Karla Čapka Dášeňka čili život štěněte, v jehož čínském překladu byly vyhledány všechny chengyu a jejich význam byl porovnám s původním zněním textu. Jednotlivé výskyty chengyu byly poté rozděleny do kategorií podle míry shody s původním textem. Analýza ukázala, že díky těmto idiomatickým výrazům je překlad čtivější, barvitější a jejich použití je oproti západnímu užití idiomů značně frekventovanější. Překladatelka také pomocí chengyu mnohdy posunula význam překládaných frází, do textu přidala nové informace či navýšila stupeň jisté vlastnosti či akce. Motivy pro tato rozhodnutí mohou být různé: snaha o větší živost textu, didaktické účely či popularita chengyu v mluvené i psané čínštině. Tato práce má 75 stran, 107 288 znaků (počítáno bez mezer) a 21 titulů použité literatury.This thesis concerns with the translation of Dashenka or the Life of a Puppy into Chinese with the focus on Chinese idioms called chengyu. These idioms occur in Chinese translations frequently and make the texts lively, more elegant and readable as was found out within this research. It was discovered that chengyu are often used as tools to add more information to the target language, that were not part of the original text, therefore the translator adds these chengyu perhaps to make up for the language elements that are almost impossible to translate, such as puns, dialects, author´s writing style or other lexemes that carry analogies in the original language. There have been established six categories dividing the chengyu occurring in this story according to the level of precision of the translation with respect to the meaning they carry and if this meaning was transferred to the target language, or it was changed. It was also identified that the reoccurrence of chengyu in Chinese texts implies the usage of the domestication process in translation studies, these idioms are popular among Chinese population and due to their presence in text a Chinese reader can feel closer to his own culture.
