This master thesis aims to analyse main factors that determine demographic development and emigration in Lithuania. The thesis focuses on social, economic and political factors that could have an impact on migration patterns and demographic development in aforementioned country. The phenomenon of migration is associated with the theory of economic migration, the theory of social networks and the theory of a "brain drain". All the mentioned theories are part of the theoretical framework of my research. The analytical part includes several variables such as emigration rate, unemployment rate or human capital, which are then analysed. Finally, the master thesis also examines the consequences and possible development of emigration in the future based on available data.
