Bohu zasvěcená služba společné modlitby je v pojetí sv. Benedikta z Nursie vrcholem veškerého konání daného bratrského společenství. - Je zároveň tím nejvznešenějším, nejsvětějším a nejprospěšnějším, co na zemi vůbec člověk může dělat. Společná chórová modlitba dle schématu navrženým sv. Benediktem z Nursie, která se stává prostředkem, jak ti, kdo se rozhodli sloužit ve vojsku Krista, Pána a pravého Krále, mají naslouchat plnosti Božímu slovu a bez přestání vstupovat do tajemství Ježíše Krista a spásy, v minulosti prošla vývojem po všech stránkách. Samotný sv. Benedikt z Nursie v 18. kapitole své Řehole ale připouští, že model společné chórové modlitby, ke kterému dospěl, není bezesporu dokonalý, protože je tzv. "ušitý na míru" danému společenství v daném místě. - Z tohoto důvodu připouštěl, za dodržení určitých podmínek, možnost jejího případného "upravení". Původně zamýšlený jednotný koncept pokoncilní podoby společné modlitby uzpůsobený pro všechny kláštery používající češtinu jako obcovací jazyk začal vznikat s porovnáním s ostatními kláštery poměrně pozdě (tj. až po roce 1990). - Během následujících 30 let si ale již každý klášter onen vytvořený "společný základ" méně či více přizpůsobil svým vlastním potřebám a tak společná modlitba získala v každém tomto klášteře svůj osobitně jedinečný charakter stejně jako společenství bratří v něm žijící. Není ale až tak důležité, do jaké míry je tato společná modlitba oproti původnímu návrhu sv. Benedikta z Nursie uzpůsobená době a místu, ale to, zda-li se bratři ke společné modlitbě, jež je středem života církve a kláštera, skutečně v duchu slov Žalmisty: "Sedmkrát za den tě chválím" scházejí. - Zn. není důležitá až tak forma a struktura modlitby, ale její podstata.The service devoted to God in the common prayer is in the conception of St. Benedict of Nursia the height of the whole aktivity of the given monk community. - It is at the same time the most elevated, sacred and useful thing that can b done by a man on earth. The common choir prayer was suggested by St. Benedict of Nursia and in the past went through the development in all respects. This prayer becomes the means how these who decided to serve in the army of Christ, the Lord and true King are to listen to the God word and without stopping enter the mystery of Jesus Christ and salvation. St. Benedict of Nursia alone in the 18th chapter of his Order allows that the model of the common choir prayer he reached is not indisputably perfect because it is so called made-to-measure to the given community at the given place. - Therefore he allowed, observing the certain requirements the possibility of its possibe "adaptation". The initilly intended unified draft of the form of the common prayer after the Council adapted for al the monasteries using the Czech language as a spoken language began to develop relatively late in comparisoon with the other monasteries (after 1990). -During following 30 years every monastery adapted this formed "common bass" les or more to own proper needs and so the common prayer obtained in every monastery originally incomparable character as well as the monk community living there. It is not so important to which extent is the common prayer in comparison with the original conception of St. Benedict of Nursia adapted to the time and place but if the monks meet for the common prayer whih is the centre of life of the church aand monastery. They meet in the sense of words of the psalmist "7 times a day I praise you." - It means the form and structure of the prayer is not important but its substance.
