Práce analyzuje téma chudoby, otroctví, sociálního statusu a poukazuje na morální hodnoty a přísnost, které předznamenávají krutou viktoriánskou dobu.This thesis researches the unique novel Mansfield Park by the genius of British literatureJane Austenand its two latest film adaptations. The aim of the thesis is to find out how the filmmakers interpreted the story to introduce it to the modern audience. The thesis analyses themes of slavery, poverty, social status and comments on the moral and rigid qualities, which foreshadow the unforgiving Victorian era.
