Program Excel, který je součástí kancelářské sady Microsoft Office, obsahuje velké množství funkcí a dalších doplňků, které jsou pro počítání příkladů v oblasti matematiky velmi užitečné. V této práci si popíšeme vybrané funkce týkající se práce s maticemi, výběrových funkcí, pravděpodobnostní funkce, regresní analýzy a analýzy rozptylu - ANOVA. Podíváme se i na chyby, na které si musíme při používání těchto funkcí a doplňků dát pozor a také na nedostatky Excelu, které vznikly nekvalitním překladem statistických pojmů z anglické verze. Přečtením této práce bychom se měli naučit v prostředí Excel natolik orientovat, abychom si poradili i s ostatními funkcemi, které si zde nevysvětlíme.The Excel, an inseparable part of the Microsoft Office package, of- fers a wide range of functions and accessories, which has been greatly valued in mathematics for helping to solve equations. In this thesis we will describe several of such functions in regards to use of matrixes, selection function, probability function, regression analysis and ANOVA. We will focus on errors that should be avoided. Moreover we shall point out some of the shortcomings of Excel, created during the translation from the English version. By reading this paper the reader should learn to na- vigate the interface of Excel to the level when he will be able to use the rest of the functions the program offers. Including those which are not addressed in this thesis.
