This work focuses on approximate negators hardly, barely, scarcely and seldom. The first part of this thesis deals with the negation classification with respect to these expressions. The practical part then focuses on the analysis based on 40 examples of each approximate negator. The aim of the analysis is to examine the elements which these negators modify and also to analyze their translation counterparts. At the end of the theses the finding are discussed and the most appropriate translation equivalents are introduced.
