Svatý stolec je jedním z mnoha aktérů světové mezinárodní scény. Jeho specifičnost mu zaručuje pozici nečlenského státního pozorovatele při Organizaci spojených národů. Cílem bakalářské práce je analyzovat postavení a vliv Svatého stolce v mezinárodních vztazích, konkrétně ve spojení s dvěma významnými konferencemi OSN v 90. letech 20. století Mezinárodní konference o populaci a rozvoji v Káhiře a Čtvrtá světová konference o ženách v Pekingu. Práce je rozdělená do tří kapitol. První z nich se věnuje teoretickému rámci konceptu soft power. Obsahuje výčet a popis zdrojů soft power důležitých pro její správné fungování. Druhá kapitola definuje rozdíl Vatikánu a Svatého stolce dle mezinárodního práva a vymezuje postavení Svatého stolce v mezinárodních vztazích a na půdě OSN. Poslední kapitola se zabývá principem fungování konferencí OSN. Podrobně analyzuje nejdůležitější momenty konferencí a jejich ovlivnění Svatým stolcem. Závěrem je posouzení míry vlivu Svatého stolce a souvisejících dopadů na konference.The Holy See is one of many actors in the world's international scene. Its specificity guarantees him status of a non-member state permanent observer at the United Nations. The aim of the bachelor thesis is to analyze the status and influence of the Holy See in international relations, in particular in connection with two major UN conferences in the 90s of the 20th century - the International Conference on Population and Development in Cairo and the Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing. Thesis is divided into three chapters. The first one deals with the theoretical framework of the concept of soft power. It contains an enumeration and specification of the sources of soft power, important for its proper behavior. The second chapter explains the difference between Vatican and the Holy See in accordance with international law and defines the position of the Holy See in international relations and the UN. The last chapter deals with the principles of the UN conferences. It analyzes the most important moments of conferences and how the Holy See affects them. Finally, there is an assessment of a measure of influence of the Holy See and related impact on the conferences.
