Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na zlepšení orientace a adaptace zahraničních studentů na Univerzitě Palackého. Využívá paralely mezi orientací a adaptací nových zaměstnanců ve firmách a orientací a adaptací zahraničních studentů na univerzitách. Vychází z předpokladu, že pro úspěšnou orientaci a adaptaci je nutný kvalitní orientační balíček. Cílem práce je získat dostatek teoretických a výzkumem ověřených skutečností, které následně umožní vznik prvního uceleného orientačního balíčku pro zahraniční studenty UP. Práce se dělí na sedm kapitol, čtyři teoretické a tři praktické. Teoretická část se zabývá definováním skupiny, pro kterou je nový orientační balíček určen, a představuje specifika české kultury, která mohou ovlivnit proces orientace a adaptace zahraničních studentů. Dále je vysvětlena paralela mezi významem orientačního balíčku ve firmách a na univerzitách. Poslední část se věnuje úskalím orientace a adaptace zahraničních studentů během studijních pobytů. Praktická část nejprve předkládá srovnání procesů orientace a adaptace zahraničních studentů na UP a dvou partnerských univerzitách s důrazem na porovnání jejich informačních materiálů. Následují výsledky a analýza výzkumu mezi 114 bývalými zahraničními studenty a návrh nového orientačního balíčku s popisem jeho vzniku a vlivu diplomové práce na jeho obsah.The aim of the thesis is to create a new Palacký University international students´ orientation kit based on the theoretical background and results found. The thesis is based on the assumption that a practical and high quality orientation kit is a necessary component of a successful orientation and adaptation of employees in companies as well as international students at universities. The thesis comprises seven chapters and is divided into two parts, a theoretical and a practical one. The theoretical part defines a target group at whom the new orientation kit is aimed, and subsequently describes particularities of Czech culture that might influence the orientation and adaptation process of international students. Further, it explains the parallel between the importance of an orientation kit in companies and at universities. The last section of the theoretical part deals with the orientation and adaptation of international students during their studies abroad. The practical part describes the orientation and adaptation of international students at PU in comparison with two foreign universities, with the main emphasis put on information materials. Furthermore, it presents results of the research led among 114 former international students of PU. Finally, it describes the process of creation, content and structure of the new orientation kit and the way in which it is influenced by the findings of the thesis.
