Cílem této práce je excerpovat dvě československá periodika vycházející po roce 1948, zpracovat jejich profil s ohledem na sociální, kulturní a politickou situaci vzhledem k době, kdy vycházela. Zvláštní důraz je kladen na překlady z angličtiny, které jsou samotným obsahem této práce.The focus of this thesis is to compare two daily news published in transformed conditions of Czechoslovakia after 1948 and point out the main differences between newspaper published in Prague (and for the whole republic, i. e. Lidová demokracie) and local newspaper (i. e. Rovnost published in Brno). The main reason in doing so is to find out how "people?s democracy" which we talk about in our country after the February 1948 (meaning the rule of one political party) affects the amount of English-speaking people in the newspaper. And it should show the differences between the newspaper in Prague and in Brno.
