V naší práci jsme provedli transkulturální srovnávací výzkum, jehož cílem bylo zjistit rozdíly v postojích českých a řeckých adolescentek k interrupci a faktory, ovlivňující formování těchto postojů. In this diploma thesis we performed a comparative transcultural research whose aim was to identify differences in the attitudes of Czech and Greek female adolescents towards abortion, as well as the factors that influence the formation of these attitudes. In the theoretical part we are analysing terms that are related to the topic (eg. Attitudes, adolescence, abortion). We also try to capture the current situation in research in the field of attitudes towards abortion, with emphasis on an attitudes of female adolescents towards them. The research group consists of 90 female adolescents from 17 to 21 years old, of which 45 are from Greece and 45 from the Czech Republic. Based on the results of our research, Greek female teenagers have more negative attitude towards abortion in comparison with the Czech female teenagers. Both research groups have different opinions for the reasons of having an abortion. For Greek teenagers financial problems or the fact, that a couple does not want to have children or does not want to have more children, do not form serious reason for having an abortion. In the contrary, both research groups agree that an abortion could be made for social reasons (eg,after a rape, when the partners are relatives, when a mother is single, when spouses are divorced, when the father of the child is unknown, or when the parents are minors) and health reasons (health problems of the mother, disabled fetus). Our research confirms the findings of most of earlier studies, which is the fact, that religiosity is a factor which increases negative attitudes to abortion. Nevertheless religious beliefs among adolescents do not have a deciding role in the formation of these attitudes. A sufficient amount of information about sexual matters is given to Czech teenagers in schools, through media and their family, whilst in Greece this information is insufficient. From the side of the church in the awareness both countries are rather inadequate. In case of an unwanted pregnancy, 51.1% of Czech and 46.7% of Greek respondents, would decide for an interruption of their pregnancy, while 49.9% of Czech and 53.3% of Greek respondents would refuse to make an abortion.
