Práce usiluje o poskytnutí komplexního pohledu na otázku lidí bez státní příslušnosti a jejich postavení v současném světě. Ve svém úvodu se krátce věnuje definici osob bez občanství, aktivitám UNHCR a statistikám, které tato agentura o problematice poskytuje. V první části věnuje pozornost rozboru nejdůleţitějších mezinárodních smluv, úvodu do právní problematiky, rozboru příčin ztráty občanství a klasifikaci příčin, jak můţe ke ztrátě dojít. Druhá část se pak zabývá rozborem těchto příčin na příkladu Rohyngiů v Myanmaru, horských kmenů v Thajsku, potomků beduínů v Kuvajtu a osob bez občanství v Etiopii.This thesis aims to provide a more complex view of the issue of citizenship and its role in the contemporary world. The introduction dedicates briefly to the definition of the people without citizenship, activities of UNHCR and the statistics that this agency provides. The first part pays attention to the analysis of the most important international treaties, introduction to the problems of law, analysis of the reasons of the losses of citizenship and the classification of these reasons. The second part analyses these reasons and gives as the examples the Rohynga in Myanmar, the mountain tribes in Thailand, the descendants of the Bedouins in Kuwait and the stateless people in Ethiopia.
