Theodor Kohn představuje výraznou osobnost na přelomu 19. a 20. století. Po více než 300 letech usedl na olomoucký arcibiskupský stolec nešlechtic, navíc rodilý Čech židovského původu. Byl vynikajícím reformátorem jak v oblasti duchovní, tak hospodářské. Zasloužil se o ekonomickou prosperitu panství, která mu umožňovala stát se štědrým mecenášem umění. Ze všech sbírkových okruhů, které během svého poměrně krátkého episkopátu nashromáždil, byla doposud detailně zpracována pouze obrazová sbírka. Předkládaná diplomová práce se snaží postihnout mecenát arcibiskupa Kohna v kroměřížské a olomoucké rezidenci, v nichž nám zanechal jak svými stavebními úpravami, tak především doplněním mobiliáře trvalý odkaz.Theodor Kohn was a remarkable personality living at the turn of the 20th century. After more than three hundred years the post of archbishop was given to a non-aristocratic person and moreover to a native Czech of Jewish origin. He was an excellent reformer both in spiritual and economical spheres. He helped the Archdiocese to economic prosperity, allowing him to become a generous patron of fine art. Apart from the collection of paintings, none of the Archbishop's large collections, acquired during his rahter short archbishopric, have been covered in detail. The present thesis deals with Archbishop Kohn's artistic patronage in his Kromeriz residence as well as in the Olomouc Archdiocese, where his architectural changes and additions to the furnishings represent his lasting legacy.
