Problematika zahraničních investic obecně je velmi dynamickou a v praxi užívanou oblastí mezinárodního práva, která v dnešní době představuje nezbytný právní rámec pro zahraniční aktivity investorů z celého světa. Jednu z nejvýznamnějších investičních oblastí v globálním měřítku představuje právě sektor energetiky. Ochrana zahraničních investic v oblasti energetiky je tedy výsečí právní úpravy investic, která je nepostradatelná jak pro investory české, kteří uskutečňují velkou část svých aktivit ve východní Evropě a na Balkáně, ale i zahraniční, jejichž větší příchod Česká republika zaznamenala především během rozmachu solárních elektráren na našem území. Vzhledem k tomu, že jsou zahraniční investice do sektoru energetiky natolik potřebné, je třeba věnovat náležitou pozornost a zabývat se konkrétními mezinárodněprávními problémy, zacházením s investicemi, stejně jako následným řešením sporů. Dle mého názoru tato diplomová práce splňuje uvedené aspekty a může tak přispět k odborné diskusi na toto téma.International investment law is a branch of international law which has grown rapidly in the last decades. Furthermore, it establishes a necessary legal framework for activities of foreign investors from all over the world. The energy sector is one of the most significant investment areas. Protection of foreign investments in the energy sector presents thus only a part of international investment law, however it has a great importance. The legal enactment the energy investments is essential for the Czech investors investing abroad (particularly in the Balkans) as well as for the foreign investors investing in the Czech Republic (mainly in the photovoltaic energy). Considering the fact that the energy investments are as much important, it is necessary to dedicate a due attention to this topic and discuss investment treatment issues and consequential dispute resolution issues. According to my point of view the thesis addresses all the abovementioned aspects and therefore might contribute to develop a discussion on this topic.
