Práce se zabývá motivem Božího hněvu a milosrdenství vůči Ninive ve sbírce Dvanácti proroků. Stručně přibližuje knihy proroků Sofonjáše, Nahuma a Jonáše, stejně tak historii Asýrie a jejího hlavního města Ninive. Kromě klíčového textu Jon 4,2 představuje i další starozákonní místa, v nichž se vyskytuje tzv. formule milosti. Na tomto základě se pak snaží vyhodnotit napětí mezi Hospodinovým hněvem vůči Ninive vyjádřeným v knize proroka Nahuma (a Sofonjáše) a Hospodinovým milosrdenstvím, vyjádřeném v prorocké knize Jonáš.The thesis deals with the theme of God's Anger and Mercy towards Nineveh in the Book of Twelve Prophets. It briefly outlines the books of the prophets Zephaniah, Nahum and Jonah as well as the history of Assyria and its capital, Nineveh. Besides the key text Jon 4,2, it also presents other places in the Old Testament where the so-called formula of mercy appears. Based on these facts, the thesis aims to assess the tension between God's Anger towards Nineveh expressed in the book of the prophet Nahum (and Zephaniah) and God's Mercy expressed in the prophet book of Jonah.
