Cílem této práce je popsat nejvýznamnější momenty vývoje romance v průběhu počátků španělské ústní i psané literatury. Konkrétně se jedná o období od 13. do 17. století. V jednotlivých kapitolách jsou popsány stupně vývoje tohoto žánru z hlediska struktury, tématiky i způsobu šíření mezi čtenáře. Zároveň jsou uvedeny historické a literární souvislosti. Poslední kapitola se soustředí zejména na dílo Lope de Vegy, který povýšil romanci mezi vznešené žánry.The aim of this thesis is to describe the most important moments in the development of romance during the origins of the Spanish oral and written literature. To be more specific the period between the 13th and 17th century is described. The phases of the development of this genre are described according to the structure, the themes and the way of distribution among the readers in the particular chapters. At the same time there is the historical and literal context mentioned. The last chapter concentrates mainly on the work of Lope de Vega, who raised the romance to be a noble genre.
