Historie, vývoj a aktuální stav vybraných jednosálových kin v bývalém Okrese Olomouc. In the making of this work my aim was not to put particular significance on the history of film nor on viewer reception of film from the esthetic point of view, but I invested my interest mainly toward the economical, and to some degree, technical aspects while mapping out the history and the contemporary status of cinematographs on a local level with some regard to more widespread similarities. For purpose of effectiveness, my work not only includes research on the chosen rural cinemas in Bohuňovice, Senice na Hané and Příkazy, but also concise information directly pertaining to their history and/or future. Although the chosen cinemas transcend standard cinemafication, dating back to the times of socialization, I consider their inclusion into this work to be relevant to its general context. In the process of researching the above matters I did not take detailed consideration of the technical aspects involved, but rather interested myself in the economic difficulties pertaining to the process of digitalization instilled on the existence of the rural cinemas. Although I hoped in a much larger archive of documentation to the topic of cinemas in the Olomouc region, I put effort towards balancing their insufficiencies by the use of the memories of the cinema operators, projectionists and witnesses. The value of their testimonies is perhaps not satisfactorily verifiable, however, their authenticity and obvious excitement has convinced me of the importance of my research to the point that I can now say with certainty that I would like to further apply myself to the study of the history of local cinema in the future. The research on rural cinemas in the Olomouc region is far from complete and I have reason to believe that the basic information that I have included within this work could prove to be a quality foundation for further research of this type. Given the rather high age of the cinema operators and their successors, and thanks to the gradual fall in numbers of these cinematographs, it is essential for further enquiry and investigation to begin in the nearest future. In the making of my work from the information available, I initially attempted to map out the history of the cinemas; during which I realized that the beginnings of film projection in Bohuňovice, Senice na Hané and Příkazy lead as far back as into the 1920s. The gradual developments of the cinematographs were similar to each other and included problems such as the frequent moving of the projection rooms and insufficient financing for quality projection equipment. These issues were overcome thanks to the determination of the cinema operators allowing for the cinematographs in Bohuňovice and Senice na Hané to still be in operation today. The cinema in Příkazy ended its operation in the recent past and thanks to the straight forward tables that I have included in my work for informative completeness it would seem that the possibility for the cinema to come into operation again is slim to none. Thanks to the plentiful data pertaining to viewer attendance I also created an appendix of the most visited films. Although the statistical data were found to be frequently imprecise, I still think that their informative value would be unchanged even if the data was to be complete. In spite of the fact that the future of rural cinemas does not seem to be favorable, there is nothing left to do but hope for the fulfillment of the mentioned conditions for their sustainability. Even though extinction is most characteristic for today?s one room cinemas, given that there still are operating rural cinemas in existence, lets hope that they will continue to operate as I have come to the conclusion that they are also important for the organization of other regional cultural activities, proving that their operation remains indispensable.
