Předložená práce pojednává o významu a charakteru edukace seniorů, zejména pak o edukačních příležitostech pro seniory u nás. První kapitola definuje pojem edukace a její význam. Druhá kapitola seznamuje se seniorskou populací, procesem stárnutí a jeho specifiky, které tímto vytvářejí vlastní požadavky na edukaci. Třetí kapitola spojuje předešlé poznatky do konceptu edukace seniorů, vypovídá o jejím systémovém ukotvení a jejích charakteristikách. Vyústěním této kapitoly je výčet edukačních příležitostí pro seniory u nás. Těžištěm a závěrečnou částí práce je popis a analýza edukačních příležitostí pro seniory v obci Petrovice u Karviné.This thesis discusses the importance and character of the education of seniors, more specifically the educational opportunities for seniors in our country. In the first part, the term education is defined together with its importance . The second chapter characterises the elderly population, the ageing process and its specifics, which create particular requirements for education. The third chapter connects the previously established information into the senior education concept; it characterises the systemic framework of the senior education and its characteristics. At the end of this chapter, educational opportunities for seniors in the Czech Republic are enumerated. The last and most important part of the thesis is the description and analysis of educational opportunities for seniors in the Petrovice u Karviné municipality.
