V bakalářské práci podávám ucelený pohled na první železnici na evropském kontinentě ? Českobudějovicko-lineckou koněspřežku, vystavěnou v letech 1825 ? 1832, a to od první myšlenky na její vybudování až k její přestavbě na parní provoz, včetně komplikací během stavby, odporu obyvatelstva a finančních potíží. I přes nedostatečné množství dobových ekonomických údajů, se v práci snažím shrnout výnosnost a rentabilitu tržeb železnice.Věnuji se zde i životu jejího stavitele ? F. A. Gerstnera.In this BA paper, I provide comprehensive information about the first railway on the European continent ? the horse-drawn running from České Budějovice to Linec, build between the years 1825 and 1832. I cover the period from the first idea of building the horse-drawn railway to its reconstruction for steam operation, including the complications during the construction, protests of the inhabitants and financial troubles. I try to resume the rate of return and profitability of receipts, despite the insufficient amount of economic information from this period. I examined also the life of the builder of the horse-drawn itself ? František Antonín Gerstner.
