Postavenie seniorov v našej spoločnosti je problematické. Hranica fyzických a duševných schopností, hoci existuje, nesúvisí s vekom. Preto vylučovanie seniorov zo spoločnosti a ich ohrozovanie chudobou vedie k ich nespokojnosti. Situáciu v starostlivosti o starších ľudí v okrese Šaľa dokladá prehľad počtu a typov zariadení v meste Šaľa a okolí. O spokojnosti seniorov so svojím statusom vypovedajú výsledky dotazníkovej ankety a riadených rozhovorov v teréne. V teoretickej časti jednotlivé kapitoly na seba logicky nadväzujú a tým sú dostačujúce aj pre východiská v praktickej časti, ktorá poukazuje na problémy a možnosti zlepšenia v starostlivosti o starších ľudí, nielen v tomto regióne.Standing of the senior people in today´s society is problematic. Borders of the physical and mental capabilities even though they exist, are not related to age. Therefore the exclusion from the society and endangerement by poverty leads to their discontent. Situation in care for elderly people in Šaľa is documents in the review of the number and types of facilities in the town of Šaľa and its near surroundings. Rewievs on elderly contentment with their status are shown in the results of the inquiry and in the directed interview in the field. In the theoretical part the individual chapters are logically interconnected and therefore sufficient for the practical resources in the practical part, which points out the problems and possible improvements in care for elderly people not only in this region.
