Tato práce se zabývá pojmem energetické bezpečnosti na konkrétném příkladu Ruska a Číny, které se snaží skrz svou politiku směrem k zemím Střední Asie zajistit zvýšenou energetikou bezpečnost svých států a naplnit tak své národní energetické zájmy. V této práci je provedena analýza postavení Ruska a Číny v oblasti Středí Asie po roce 2001. Oblast Střední Asie je pro tyto dvě světové mocnosti, a nejenom pro ně, strategickým regionem zejména kvůli jejich značnému potenciálu v oblasti energetických surovin a relativní blízkosti pro jejich trhy. Probíhající soupeření o středoasijské energetické suroviny je popisováno termínem tzv. Nové velké hry. Text se konkrétně zaměřuje na situaci v plynárenském sektoru následujících tří středoasijských zemí: Turkmenistánu, Kazachstánu a Uzbekistánu. V práci je také provedena analýza energetických vztahů těchto středoasijských zemí s Ruskem, Čínou, Íránem a EU. Pro pochopení důležitosti středoasijského regionu zejména pro Rusko a Čínu autorka také považuje za důležité zjistit stav jejich domácí produkce a spotřeby plynu. V neposlední řadě se práce zabývá také samotným vztahem Číny a Ruska v oblasti plynu, zejména jejich vzájemnou dlouholetou snahou vybudovat plynovod Altaj, který má přivést ruský plyn do tzv. energeticky hladové Číny.This work deals with the concept of energy security on specific examples of Russia and China, which seek through their policies towards Central Asian countries to ensure greater energy security of their countries and thus meet their national energy interests. The author analyzes the position of Russia and China in the region of Central Asia after 2001. Central Asia is for the two world powers, and not only for them, a strategic region in particular because of its significant potential in energy resources and its relative proximity to their markets. Ongoing competition for Central Asian energy resources is described by the so-called term New Great Game. The text is specifically focused on the situation in the gas sector of these three Central Asian countries: Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. The work is also analyzing the energy relationship of these Central Asian countries with Russia, China, Iran and the EU. To understand the importance of Central Asian region, particularly for Russia and China, the author also considers important to analyze the status of their domestic production and consumption of gas. Finally, the text deals with the actual relationship between China and Russia in gas sector, in particular their mutual desire to build Altai pipeline to bring Russian gas to the so-called energy-hungry China.
