Práce porovnává případy vyhlášení nezávislosti Kosova a Abcházie a jejich mezinárodního uznání roku 2008. Její hypotézou je tvrzení,l že příklad Kosova není případem sui generis a pro podporu tohoto názoru je Kosovo komparováno s Abcházií. Práce je dělená do pěti kapitol - první je teoretická, popisuje pojmy jako suverenita a právo na sebeurčení. Druhá kapitola analyzuje etnické a náboženské podmínky Kosova a Abcházie. Náledující tři kapitoly se věnují historickému pozadí obou konfliktů. Hypotéza byla dle autorova názoru potvrzena.Thesis compares the cases of declaration of independence of Kosova and Abkhazia and their international recognition in 2008. Its hypothesis is the opinion, that the Kosovo case is not sui generis case and to support this opinion, Kosovo is compared with the Abkhazia case. Thesis is divided into five chapters - first one is theoretical, describes the terms like sovereignty or self-determintaion right. Second chapter analyses ethnical and religious conditions in both Kosovo and Abkhazia. Another chapters are speaking about the historical background of both conflicts. The hypothesis was, according to the authorś opinion, confirmed.
