V magisterské diplomové práci Sakrální stavby Carla Valmadiho je pozornost věnována skupině následujících kostelních objektů, tzn. farnímu kostelu sv. Jakuba v Dolním Lánově, děkanskému kostelu Nejsvětější Trojice a bývalému hřbitovnímu kostelu Nejsvětější Trojice v Hostinném, dále farnímu kostelu sv. Jakuba v Dolní Olešnici, farnímu kostelu sv. Václava v Rudníku a též konečně stávajícímu hřbitovnímu kostelu Nanebevzetí Panny Marie v Horním Maršově. Společným jmenovatelem citovaných staveb je předpokládaná, či přímo doložená účast stavitele údajně italského původu, Carla Valmadiho, který v námi sledované oblasti bývalého trutnovského okresu dle předpokladu působil mezi lety 1572-1610. V širším kontextu výše zmíněného tématu byl prostor poskytnut rovněž problematice šlechtického mecenátu a v souvislosti se začleněním staveb do vývoje pozdně renesanční architektury v Čechách byla okrajově zmíněna též související otázka pogotického umění druhé poloviny šestnáctého a první třetiny sedmnáctého století (tzv. nachgotik). Za ústřední část diplomové práce lze považovat samostatnou kapitolu monografických pojednání jednotlivých sakrálních objektů. Kromě standardních popisů architektur a zhodnocení jejich stavebního vývoje byly do pojednání zařazeny též přehledy dochovaných částí původních renesančních mobiliářů.The aim of this thesis is to present a survey of the history and building development of the churches which are attributed to the late Italian renaissance architect named Carlo Valmadi. The churches are as follows: the Parish Church of St. Jacob in Dolní Lánov, the Dean?s Church of Holy Trinity, former Cemetery Church of Holy Trinity in Hostinné, the Parish Church of St. Jacob in Dolní Olešnice, the Parish Church of St. Wenceslaw in Rudník and the Cemetery Church of Assumption of Virgin Mary in Horní Maršov. It is necessary to say that these aforementioned sacred buildings are ranked among the most important and valuable architectural monuments in the upper part of the River Labe area. The concept of the thesis was influenced by the fact that most of these buildings were reconstructed by order of local nobility. Therefore, the first chapter of the dissertation consists of a short introduction into the problems of the aristocratic and nobiliary patronage in the era of early modern age. The second chapter gives a summary of historical sources and related secondary literature. It also contains some information about general development of late renaissance sacred architecture in Czech lands in the second half of the 16th and early part of the 17th century. In the third chapter we pay attention to the location of the churches within a local built-up area, the description of the churches from the architectural point of view, and finally, the reconstruction of building development. The fourth part is the concluding chapter of the thesis and it is followed by bibliography and summary. The last part consists of a large number of photographs relating to the respective church buildings.
