Hlavním cílem této diplomové práce je vymezit subžánr dětské fantasy pomocí komparace fantastických snímků určených pro děti, které byly natočeny po roce 2001 v americké produkci či koprodukci. Jako metodologii jsem zvolil Altmanův sémanticko/syntaktický přístup k analýze žánru, který jsem upravil pro analýzu dětské fantasy. Snímky jsem komparoval v těchto sémanticko/syntaktických kategoriích: kouzelná prostředí, bytosti a předměty, vztah mezi říší fantazie a skutečným světem, stylistické prvky, narativní stavba, charakteristika protagonisty a jeho vztah ke kolektivu, vztah dobra a zla, významová rovina a inspirace z jiných žánrů. V závěru práce jsem pomocí syntézy prvků z analyzovaných kategorií formuloval určující teze pro snímky žánru dětské fantasy. Tyto teze vymezují žánrové snímky dětské fantasy oproti snímkům ostatních žánrů, zejména oproti příbuzným žánrům pohádky a fantasy pro dospělé.The purpose of this thesis is to define the children´s fantasy subgenre through comparing the fantasy films for children, that were filmed after 2001 either in American production or co-production. I chosed the semantic/syntactic approach to the generic analysis, which was defined by Rick Altman. I modified it for the analysis of children´s fantasy. I compared the children´s fantasy films in these categories: magical settings, beings and items, relation between fantasy and human realm, film language, narrative structure, protagonist´s characteristics and his relationships with his peers, relation between the good and the evil, levels of meaning, inspiration from other genres. The work is concluded with the defining theses for the children´s fantasy films, which had been synthesized from the results of the analysis of ten above stated categories. These theses define the children´s fantasy films in comparison with films of another genres, especially fairy tales and fantasy for adults.
