Fyzicko-geografická charakteristika města Bystřice pod Hostýnem podává komplexní souhrn informací o území z hlediska přírodních poměrů, se zaměřením na hydrologické a geomorfologické prvky. Na základě popisu jednotlivých fyzicko-geografických charakteristik a vlastním zmapováním terénu je vytvořen návrh základní struktury tematického atlasu města, jehož prvotní rozpracování je podnětem ke vzniku kartografického díla v podobě tematického atlasu města Bystřice pod Hostýnem. Následné zpracovaní uceleného díla by v budoucnu mohlo posloužit široké veřejnosti ke studiu zájmové oblasti, neboť doposud neexistuje žádná podobná publikace popisující přírodní poměry města.Physical-geographical characteristics of the town Bystřice pod Hostýnem gives a comprehensive summary of the territory in terms of natural conditions, with a focus on hydrological and geomorphological features. There is created a proposal of a basic structure for a thematic atlas of the town which is based on the description of the physical-geographical characteristics and its own field mapping. An initial elaboration of the proposal is a stimulation to the creation of cartographic work in the form of a thematic atlas of the town Bystřice pod Hostýnem. Subsequent processing of compact work could be used for public interests in the future, because so far there is no similar publication describing the natural condition of the town.
