Bakalářská práce si kladla za cíl zmapovat a zhodnotit úroveň a kvantitu vědeckofantastického filmu v české kinematografii letech 1989 ? 2009. Vědeckofantastický žánr má svoji tradici také v české, respektive československé historii. Svého času bylo československé sci-fi na světové úrovni a právě tento fakt vedl k zamyšlení, jaká je současná pozice a úroveň českého vědeckofantastického filmu.The aim of my bachelor thesis is to map and find out what the current position of science fiction film in the Czech Republic is compared to the world context, point out its quality and based on the analysis of particular film genres determine what level of the science fiction films is reached. The actual topic, the currant images of the Czech sci.fi, precedes the necessary chapter of the development of the genre itself, with the closer aim at the development of the sci-fi genre, as well as the short research into the history of science fiction film in the world and Czech (respectively Czech-Slovakian) cinema. Based on both examining Czech and world sci-fi film production significantly different development can be observed. Although there are various approaches in sci-fi genres applied in a large number of Czech movies, there had been very few attempts to make a pure science fiction in the recent time. Mainly, theses films usually fit various sci-fi moments in their concept. I have created four basic on the basis of the approaches of particular film-makers who fit various sci-fi elements to their movie categories. To the first category I have included films in which the sci-fi elements occur only seldom, just to make the atmosphere of the movie more interesting. The whole composition of the film is constructed towards a different theme such as in the film Dvojrole where it is merely psychologically-made picture. In the second category, I have examined the films which try to capture the crystalclear sci-fi genre. The findings which have been very significant are that this category is represented utterly lowly, in fact it can just be talked only about one movie called Nexus, however, its quality is rather controversial. The third category is repres situation that most of the movies which work with this genre have, however, the final image pointed to it only very little. The vast majority of the references to the science fiction genre can be found already in the stories and the plot of the actual movies. Since the conception of these story lines and plots is worked with mainly artificially, in the frame of the film they are presented very plainly and shallowly. While the sci-fi period of the film in the seventies and eighties in the Czechoslovakia excels in the number of various sci-fi properties and accessories connected with original ideas and approaches waking-up the viewer´s imagination, we are confronted in the current Czech sci-fi with psychological themes of deep thoughts, however full of inconclusive endings. As the most appreciated way of working with the genre of sci-fi in the Czech Republic can be currently concerned the pieces of art from the spheres of student and independent productions, which are usually freed from clichés and do not hesitate to present their own thoughts, such as formal approaches of various makers. Individual makers work in their films with a range of accessories of sci-fi genre (robots, chips, space shuttles) as well as with the reflection of currant society and from these life conditions they focus on the futuristic visions of burdening future. The category of the student and independent production significantly proves that this genre can be skillfully developed even in short time periods and with the minimum of production support. Sci-fi is currently the genre of the great significance in the world, recently experiencing its repeated renaissance and transforms the new format of the third dimension. It can only be hoped that the science fiction films will flourish and gain their position also in the Czech environment. orná literatura pro specifikaci
