Tato práce se zabývá rolí nadpřirozena ve vybraných novelách Theodora Storma (Der Spiegel des Cyprianus, Psyche) a Paula Heyseho (Kleopatra, Der letzte Centaur, Das Seeweib). Cílem práce je dokázat, že nadpřirozeno, popř. racionálně nevysvětlitelné události, jsou v uvedených dílech často tematizovány. Tento fakt byl dlouho opomíjen a proto je tato práce jednou z prvních, která se takovou problematikou zabývá. Zároveň jsou tato díla porovnávána s díly anglo-americké literatury, která se zabývají podobnou tématikou.This thesis discusses the role of the supernatural in selected novellas by Theodor Storm (Der Spiegel des Cyprianus, Psyche) and Paul Heyse (Kleopatra, Der letzte Zentaur, Das Seeweib). The goal of this analysis is to prove that the supernatural, or to be more precise, the rationally inexplicable events are in these works often thematized. This fact has been ignored for so long and so is this thesis one of the first ones which are concerned with a similar issue. At the same time, the German works are compared to the Anglo-American ones which deal with a similar topic.
