Sociální opora patří k faktorům pomáhajícím chránit jedince před negativními dopady stresu na jeho psychickou pohodu a zdraví. Lesbické ženy mohou v majoritní společnosti čelit stresorům vyplývajícím z jejího heteronormativního uspořádání. Studie se věnovala především problematice sociální opory vnímané ze strany rodičů a otázce praktické sociální opory u žen s menšinovou citovou orientací. Kvantitativní části výzkumu se zúčastnilo 140 respondentek. Kvalitativní části výzkumu se zúčastnilo 5 žen. Použitá metodika zahrnovala ?Škálu vnímané opory ze strany rodičů ? pro lesby a gaye? (PPSS-LG) a ?Dotazník praktické opory? (FSSQ). Kvalitativní část zahrnovala semistrukturované interview. Studie sledovala míru coming outu žen v rámci jejich rodiny a sociálního okolí, a souvislosti mezi coming outem a sociální oporou. Studie věnovala pozornost rovněž názoru žen na způsob prezentace LGBT tematiky v médiích, či míře v jaké se respondentky účastní aktivit LGBT komunity.Social support is considered to be one of the factors that can protect us against the negative effects of stress on our psychological well-being. Lesbians in the mainstream society may face up pressure that comes out of it´s heteronormativity. This research was basicaly focused on the issue of perceived parental social support and functional social support of sexual minority women. The total number of participants of it´s quantitative part was 140. 5 women were interviewed during the qualitative part. The Perceived Parental Social Support Scale-Lesbian Gay (PPSS-LG) and Duke?UNC Functional Social Support Questionnaire (FSSQ) were used to collect the data. One of the aims of the study was to map degrees of participants´ coming out in their families and immediate environment. Study paid atention to the way women reflected general image of sexual minorities presented in the czech media or to the question of their interest in participation on activities organised by czech LGBT community.
