Diplomová práce se zabývá historickým vývojem i současným stavem prostorové struktury města Opavy. Na počátku práce jsou uvedeny teoretické základy prostorové struktury města a dále je zmíněna fyzickogeografická charakteristika území. Významnou částí je historický vývoj prostorové struktury Opavy s ohledem na postavení města v minulosti. Práce zahrnuje analýzu aktuálního stavu domovní, demografické a ekonomické struktury města. Naznačen je vývoj města. Součástí práce jsou také rozhovory s představiteli města a ostatními odborníky.The diploma thesis deals with the development and the current status of the area structure of the city Opava. In the introduction there is theoretical basics of the area structure and the physical-geographical characteristics of the area. The important part of the thesis is the historical development of the area structure in Opava due to its history. The thesis includes analysis of the housing and object estates, demografic and economic structure. There is concentraces on the future city development. The thesis contains also interviews with the city representatives and professionals.
