Cílem práce je vymezit postavy v rané prozaické tvorbě Bohumila Hrabala z hlediska způsobů jejich charakterizace v textech. Analýze podrobíme postavy v povídkových souborech Perlička na dně a Pábitelé. Na základě rozborů stanovíme dominující způsoby prezentace postav a představíme principy, jež mají významný vliv na čtenářskou interpretaci postav. Teoretickým východiskem při prezentaci typů charakterizace postav je převážně Poetika vyprávění Shlomith Rimmon-Kenanové a Literární postava ? Vývoj a aspekty naratologických zkoumání Bohumila Fořta.The goal of the thesis is to define Hrabal´s early prose characters in light of how are they characterized in the text. Analysis will focus on characters in short story cycles ?Perlicka na dne? (Pearl on the Bottom) and ?Pabitele?. On the basis of the analysis we will set main ways of character presentation and show the principles which strongly influence process of reader´s interpretation of characters. Theoretical basis for presenting of character characterizing types is mainly Shlomith Rimmon-Kenan´s Narrative fiction: contemporary poetics and Bohumil Fort´s Literarni postava - Vyvoj a aspekty naratologickych zkoumani (Literary Character - Development and Aspects of Narratology Researches).
