Cílem této práce je zmapovat výskyt svébytného uměleckého odvětví tvorby umělých jeskynních objektů na území Čech a Moravy počínaje prvním doloženým projevem na samém konci 16. století, přes následné rozšíření tohoto nezvyklého fenoménu v průběhu 17. století, až po jeho pozvolné doznívání v polovině století 18. Nejde však o vyčerpávající katalogové zpracování. Přesto, že se práce zaměřuje především na významné dochované objekty, neopomíjí ani některé výjimečné zaniklé grotty, o kterých jsme zpraveni na základě dochovaných archivních pramenů. Snahou autorky bylo především komplexní pojednání vybraných objektů a jejich zařazení do širšího dobového a uměleckohistorického kontextu.The objective of the thesis is to record the occurrences of an original art style manifested by the creations of artificial caves in the area of Bohemia and Moravia as from its first manifestation at the end of the 16th century, during the subsequent widespread of this unusual phenomenon in the 17th century until its gradual descent in the middle of the 18th century. This work is not, however, a complete catalogue elaboration. Although the sole aim of the thesis is to record the significant objects preserved up to date, it also lists grottoes no longer existing of which there is evidence only in the archive materials. Main focus was directed onto the complex elaboration of selected items and their placement on the timeline and in the historical context.
