Tato práce se zaměřuje na zpracování díla Geografika řeckého zeměpisce a historika Strabóna, přičemž si všímá jeho pojetí moře a národů s ním spojených v oblastech tvořících řeckou oikúmené, tedy prostor vymezený především během řecké kolonizace. Úvodní kapitoly vymezují jednak samotnou oblast oikúmené a také obecně nejvýznamnější aspekty vztahu Řeků k moři, jakož i jejich pojetí etnicity. Po části věnované krátkému představení Strabónova života a jeho díla přichází jádro práce, kde jsou v rámci jednotlivých oblastí oikúmené uvedeny ty národy, jež Strabón s příslušnou oblastí a mořem spojuje, jakož i aspekty s mořem související, na jejichž základě můžeme dospět k názoru, že daný národ žije u moře. Závěrečná část je věnována zmíněným aspektům, jako je např. pirátství či rybolov, a jejich komparaci napříč jednotlivými knihami Geografik ve snaze vyvodit určité obecné závěry o způsobu, jakým Strabón moře v rámci řecké oikúmené pojímá.This thesis focus on the elaboration of the work Geographica of Strabo, Greek geographer and historian, whereas it observes his conception of the sea and nations joined with it in the areas creating the Greek oikumene, thus the territory delimited during the Greek colonization. Preliminary chapters delimit partly the area of the oikumene itself and also the most important aspects of the relation of the Greeks to the sea generally as well as their conception of the nationality. After the part devoted to brief introduction of the Strabo's life and his work comes the merits of the thesis where are within the particular areas of the oikumene noticed these nations which Strabo with concerned area joins as well as the aspects related to the sea on the basis of them we can conclude that the concrete nation lives by the sea. The closing part is devoted to mentioned aspects as for example piracy or fishing, and their compare across the particular books of Geographica in an effort to draw certain general conclusions about the way Strabo envisages the sea within the Greek oikumene.
