Práce se zabývá naukou o očištění (katharsis) u církevního Otce Origena z Alexandrie (2/3st.n.l.). Zkoumá zda je tento hmotný svět stvořen Bohem primárně jako prostředek spásy a jaké další koncepty katharsis můžeme vidět u Origena. Zda byly vzájemně propojeny a tvořily tak jednotný systém. V rámci výkladu pojednává o Origenově exegezi, antropologii, soteriologii, kosmologii a nauce o duši (preexistence, pád a návrat).This thesis is dealing with doctrine about purgeing at church-father Origen from Alexandria (2/3 A.D.). It explores the question if this material world was created primarily as instrument of salvation and which Origen´s conception of catharsis we can see. The fact is that these conceptions were unified and created the integrated system. Regarding to the conception, this thesis is dealing with Origen´s exegesis, anthropology, soteriology, cosmology, and about teachings of psyche (pre-existence, fall and return).
