Ce mémoire traite du theme de la nature et de ses motifs a l'époque du préromantisme français. Nous avons choisi trois livres des auteurs du tournant du XVIIIe et du XIXe siecle - Paul et Virginie de Bernardin de Saint-Pierre et Atala et René de Chateaubriand. Le travail analyse l'importance de ce theme dans chaque récit, il décrit les formes et les fonctions des motifs concrets. Il cherche aussi le lien entre ce theme et les sentiments et la vie intérieure des personnages.The thesis deals with the theme of Nature and its particular motifs in French Pre-Romantic literature, specifically in the works of authors of the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries - Bernardin de Saint-Pierre and Chateaubriand - Paul and Viginia, Atala, René. The thesis examines the status of the motif of Nature in all three works, describes the form and function of individual natural motifs and also deals with the relationship between this theme and the internal experience and emotions of the characters.
